KCDS is Again a Leader in Conservation Initiatives
The Oakland County and Oakland Schools have again been designated an official Michigan Green School – Evergreen Level (20+ points) for the 2011-2012 program year. This is the highest distinction a school can receive for its conservation and environmental programs and initiatives. This is the fourth consecutive year that Kingsbury has been awarded this honor. In its award to Kingsbury, the Green Schools awards committee cited, “It takes extra time, effort, planning, and drive to implement the initiatives outlined in the Green Schools Program. We appreciate your involvement and leadership in coordinating the Green Schools program as well the efforts of the students, staff, parents, volunteers and school community.”
Mr. Dake, school naturalist and Environmental Studies Program instructor, and a few members of the Red Key will be attending an award ceremony on April 24, at which time the school will officially receive its award.
Congratulations to the Kingsbury community on your continued interest and efforts in maintaining our status as a school leader in the area of environmental consciousness!
